Description
August 15 Toronto Ron Dayman and Charles Hill of GO appeared before the Ontario Press Council to present a complaint against the Ottawa Citizen regarding its coverage of the "Ottawa Sex Scandal" in March 1975. GO complained that the paper had engaged in an anti-homosexual witch-hunt, using sensational and irresponsible reporting and terms like "vice ring" to create a rumour mill of national proportions. On December 12, 1975, the Council ruled that the Citizen had not given undue prominence to the reporting of charges laid in the "Ottawa Sex Scandal."
