July 21 Ottawa Justice Minister Otto Lang introduced Bill C-72, The Canadian Human Rights Act, in the House of Commons. The Bill would establish an Ottawa-based Canadian Human Rights Commission to fight discrimination in areas under federal jurisdiction. Discrimination based on sexual orientation would not be covered by the Commission. (see also July 31.1975)
