Description

February 18 Toronto Thirty-five men and women picketed the offices of the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on University Avenue in a demonstration organized by GATE (Toronto). They were protesting the Commission's failure to respond to the brief "The Homosexual Minority and the Ontario Human Rights Code," submitted in August 1973, which called for the inclusion of sexual orientation in the Ontario Human Rights Code. Eight of the protesters were able to meet directly with Robert McPhee, director of the Commission. The picket also led to a meeting with the full Commission on March 1, 1974. (see also March 1, 1974.)
