Description

October 15 Ottawa Ron Dayman, Charles Hill, and Denis LeBlanc of GO met with T.B. Sheehan, acting director-general of the Department of Manpower and Immigration. Manpower and Immigration Minister Robert Andras was reported to be in favour of repealing sections of the Immigration Act that prohibited the entry of gay people into Canada. On the same day, twelve picketers distributed leaflets in front of the Manpower and Immigration building. This was to protest government inaction as well as the barring from Canada of American gay activist John Kyper on August 26,1974. (see also October 23,1974.)
