September Toronto The Canadian Gay Liberation Movement Archives was founded as a spin-off from The Body Politic, with the newspaper's back files serving as the original core of the collection. Jearld Moldenhauer was instrumental in getting the Archives started, and Ron Dayman served as the Archives' first volunteer archivist. Over the next twenty years, the (renamed) Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives would grow to become one of the largest repositories of gay and lesbian materials in the world.
