Biography
Robert Burns was a Parti Quebecois politician in the Maisonneuve district. He supported the inclusion of sexual orientation in the Quebec Charter of Human Rights, and was a political ally of the gay movement in Quebec. In 1975 he was part of an independent collective which began publishing 'Gay Times', a monthly news journal that was started in response to an increase in police harassment of the gay community.
