Michael Lynch

Biography

Michael Lynch was an English professor at the University of Toronto and an important figure in Canada's gay liberation movement. He was an early member of Gay Alliance toward Equality (GATE) Toronto, and an organizing member of the Gay Academic Union (GAU) at the University of Toronto. In 1974 he co-taught a course about the gay experience at the University of Toronto, and he often took part in discussions and talks that promoted gay rights.
