Gordon Fairweather
Biography
Gordon Fairweather was the first chief commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission in 1977. He also received the Order of New Brunswick Award for his public service. He supported the inclusion of sexual orientation in the Canadian Humans Rights Act, and even as an MP, he proposed to include sexual orientation to the prohibited categories of the discrimination act but was not supported by the Conservative Party.
