Description
February 20 Winnipeg Seven men and twelve male teenage hustlers were indicted on multiple sex charges after a police crackdown. Five other men were charged at later dates. The men were charged with having sex with the youths, aged thirteen to eighteen, in exchange for money, food, or lodging, in what became known as the "juvenile sex-for-cash" scandal. Most of the men charged were professionals, and included television host and columnist Allan Spraggett and Richard C. Malone, publisher of the Winnipeg Free Press.
