Description

October New Brunswick While campaigning for the upcoming October 23 provincial election, Premier Richard Hatfield dismissed the Liberal opposition leader Joseph Daigle as a "second-hand rose." Daigle replied that he'd rather be a second-hand rose than a "faded pansy." The Globe and Mail remarked that the reply was "a cutting reference to Mr. Hatfield's sometimes effete gestures."
