Description

May 8 Montréal The trial of Giuseppe Salvaggio began at the Montréal Municipal Court. Salvaggio, the owner of the Truxx bar, had been charged with keeping a common bawdy house after the police raided Truxx on October 22, 1977. Salvaggio pleaded not guilty, and this opening trial had the responsibility of determining whether or not Truxx was in fact a common bawdy house. The case was eventually remanded until December 12, 1978, when the lawyers' closing arguments would be heard. (See also April 2, 1980.)
