October Saskatoon Peter Millard and others attempted to form a gay academic union at the University of Saskatchewan in the wake of the Doug Wilson affair. On January 27,1976, a meeting of the University of Saskatchewan Gay Academic Union was held at which Millard, a professor of English at the University, was elected president. Jim Avandt, Neil Richards, and Doug Wilson were elected to the executive.
