Description

July 21-September 26 Ottawa GO was awarded a grant for $4,485 from the Secretary of State under the Student Community Services Program to fund Project Community Outreach. The project was designed to help educate people in the Ottawa area about homosexuality and to conduct seminars about GO and the gay community for local social service agencies. Ron Dayman, Ian Maclennan, Marie Robertson, and Greg Spurgeon participated in the project, which included the production of the bilingual booklet Understanding Homophobia/Pour bien comprendre l'homophobie. On September 4, Project Community Outreach held a public forum on homosexuality at the Ottawa Public Library Auditorium.
