January Thunder Bay, Ont. Lakehead Gay Liberation was formed at Lakehead University after Jearld Moldenhauer of The Body Politic visited the campus. Dave Belrose was the coordinator of the group, which had eight to twelve members and was active for only six months, after which gay activities in Thunder Bay centred around the private membership Backstreet Athletic Club, which existed until January 1980.
