Description

May 27 Toronto Ron Dayman and Walter Klinger, members of GATE (Toronto), were harassed and physically attacked by rally organizers at the Etobicoke Liberal Riding Association nomination meeting of Alastair Gillespie, held in preparation for the July 8 federal election. The meeting was addressed by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Attempts were made to evict Dayman and Klinger from the rally because they carried gay rights signs and distributed leaflets calling for gay rights as advocated by the NGEC.
