Description

July 18 Windsor, Ont. WGU tried to place a classified advertisement for a gay dance in the Windsor Star and was refused. The entire ad read: "Gay Dance / Saturday / 8 p.m. / Alumni Lounge / University of Windsor." J. Patrick O'Callaghan, publisher of the Star, said that the ad had been rejected because it "exploited sex," that it discriminated against heterosexuals, and that it was offensive, WGU filed a complaint with the Windsor Press Council on July 27,1973. (See also July 20 and September 25, 1973.)
