March 5 Halifax GAE presented a five-page brief to the Nova Scotia Legislature recommending that a clause concerning sexual orientation be included in the provincial Human Rights Act. The brief had been drawn up by the Legal Reform Committee of GAE, under the direction of Nils Clausson. During the same week, representatives of GAE were in contact with Dr. William Gillis, minister in charge of the Human Rights Act, with Dr. McCurdy, director of the Human Rights Commission, and with the provincial Health and Welfare Committee.
