Description
December 2 Vancouver After the Vancouver Sun refused to print a classified subscription ad for Gay Tide in November, GATE (Vancouver) organized a demonstration of fifteen people outside the Pacific Press Building, 2250 Granville Street. The proposed ad read "Subs, to Gay Tide, Gay Lib Paper. 6 monthly issues, $1. Box 6572, Station G, Van 8." The Sun had a standing rule not to print any ad containing the words "gay" or "homophile." In October 1973 the Sun had refused to print an ad for Gay People Together, for the same reason. (See also October 23, 1973.)
