Description

September Vancouver Gay People of UBC (University of British Columbia) was formed as a successor to the Gay People's Alliance. Maurice Flood and other members of GATE (Vancouver) helped to establish the group, which was devoted to gay liberation, to eliminating anti-gay content in courses and textbooks, and to proposing a gay studies programme. By November 1972, Gay People of UBC held meetings every week, and social events every second Friday that attracted up to eighty men and women.
