Autumn Montréal McGill University instructors Bruce Garside, Linda Page-Hollander, and John Southin initiated a popular course on "Biology and Social Change" that included the examination of gay liberation. By September 1972, a discussion group from this course had formed into GAY (later Gay McGill). (see also September 1972.)
