April 21 Toronto An advertisement for Harry Rosen's Men's Wear entitled "Is Hardy Amies Just Another Mad, Gay Designer?" and illustrated with a limp-wristed male hand holding a cigarette holder was published in the Globe and Mail. On April 24, in a letter to the editor of the Globe, Charles Hill of UTHA complained of the "pure, bigoted stereotyping" of the ad.
