January 17 Toronto The Drummer Boy, an English-language version of Jean Basile's play Joli tambour, opened at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. The Theatre Toronto production was directed by Clifford Williams and starred Richard Monette and John Colicos. (see also 1966.)
