Biography
George Weinberg coined the term 'homophobia' in 'Society and the Healthy Homosexual' (1972), understanding homophobia as an irrational state of mind and a psychological malady. He also fought for the removal of homosexuality in the DSM. More than 250 copies of Weinberg's book were sent to Manitoba libraries for a campaign by Gays for Equality.
