Gordon Chong
Biography
Gordon Chong was Toronto’s alderman for Ward Six in the 80s. In November 1981 he called for a gay awareness programme to be established to sensitize the police. The motion passed but was opposed by Toronto Mayor Art Eggleton and alderman Tony O’Donohue. In December 1981 he acted as the liaison for the gay community in a meeting with the Board of Commissioners of Police.
