Doug Whitfield

Biography

Doug Whitfield was a member of the Alberta Lesbian and Gay Rights Association. In 1980 he filed a complaint with the Alberta Human Rights Commission after the Edmonton Journal refused to print a classified for Gay Horizons. The journal’s publisher denied these allegations and claimed that the ad didn't conform to their standards of acceptability.
