January 7 Montréal L'Aide aux transsexuels du Québec Inc. (ATQ), the first meetings of which began in October 1980, was officially founded as a non-profit organization by Mlle. Marcelle Godbout (Mimi de Paris). The ATQ was active throughout 1981, holding press conferences and advocating for the rights of transsexuals.
