March 5 Edmonton Representatives of almost all of Alberta's gay groups, including the ALGRA, Dignity for Gay Catholics, GATE (Edmonton), GIRC, MCC (Calgary), and MCC (Edmonton) made presentations before the Alberta Human Rights Commission. The commission admitted that it had not pressed for gay rights protections in Alberta's human rights legislation because it thought the PC government would not consider the commission's other recommendations unless sexual orientation was dropped.
