Description

January 23 Montréal David Cassidy, a community worker with Ville Marie Social Services, filed a complaint with the Quebec Human Rights Commission following the cancellation of a speech he had been asked to deliver to students at Baron Byng High School on January 15, 1980. Cassidy's talk, "Homosexuality: Exploding the Myth," was scheduled for a voluntary student meeting after hours, as part of a weekly series organized by Sun Youth, a community recreation group. The talk was cancelled after one teacher threatened to call both the press and the police if Cassidy spoke.
