October–November Toronto Although Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's student union agreed to provide up to $400 in funding, Mike Balz and Randy Henkel otherwise met with abuse, harassment, and a bomb threat when they attempted to establish a gay student group, the Ryerson Gay Student Association. This was the second attempt to establish a gay student group at Ryerson.
