October Lennoxville, Qué. Daron Westman was instrumental in forming the Gay Students' Alliance at Bishop's University despite threats, harassment, and a physical attack. The group had moved off-campus by January 1982, however, due to ongoing harassment. Westman and others also formed the community-based l'Association gaie de l'Estrie in Sherbrooke by 1980. (See also September 1980 .)
