September 30 Vancouver A Lesbian and Gay Arts Festival was held at WECC, and was organized by GATE (Vancouver). The organizers of the event had difficulty in securing the rented space due to reluctance on the part of the centre's board, which stated initially that "the Centre's aims and goals are different from those of GATE." (See also October 23, 1979.)
