June 18 Toronto Ontario Minister of Labour Robert Elgie confirmed that the Progressive Conservative (PC) government planned to introduce amendments to the Ontario Human Rights Code during the fall sitting. Gay activists organized for a final push to include sexual orientation as a protected ground of discrimination in the code. (See also August 4–5, 1979.)
