December 9–10 Québec, Qué. Father Gerard was ordained as an openly gay priest in the Eucharistic Catholic Church during a special ceremony held by a bishop of the order from New York City. The Church, theologically conservative but socially liberal and based on the rites of the Roman Catholic Church, had about a hundred members in the Québec City region.
