February 17 Halifax Eleven women and ten men protested the CBC's discriminatory policy, reiterated on January 7, 1977, which did not allow for the broadcast of gay public service announcements. This was the first public gay demonstration held in Atlantic Canada, and was covered by local media. (See also February 19, 1977.)
