June Edmonton In an address before the Alberta district convention of the Knights of Columbus, MP Walter Dinsdale (PC –Brandon-Souris) stated that homosexuals and their campaigns for more rights could spell the death of the family as a basic unit of society. It was also announced during the convention that the Knights of Columbus had set aside $500,000 to battle moral decay, which included the fight for gay rights. Dwight Potvin, chairperson of the Edmonton Community of Gay Christians, coordinated a petition against this position on gay rights.
