Description

April 30 Halifax Thirty-four members and supporters of GAE picketed the Jury Room, a lounge in the Carleton Hotel, to protest the exclusion of gays. About a dozen gays had been expelled from the lounge during two incidents that occurred there on April 21 and 22. New management of the lounge had consistently refused to serve openly gay men. GAE called for a boycott of the lounge, and the picket received wide media coverage in Halifax.
