Description

June 10 Saskatoon About twenty men and women demonstrated in front of the Star-Phoenix building to protest the paper's refusal to print an ad submitted by the Gay Community Centre. The Centre had sent questionnaires on gay matters to all candidates running in the June 11 provincial election. Nine of the twenty-five candidates in Saskatoon replied: eight were supportive of gay rights, one was negative. The ad refused by the Star-Phoenix listed the results of the poll. This was the first gay picket held in Saskatoon.
