Description

May 13 Toronto GO had complained to the office of the Attorney General of Ontario regarding police practices in the arrests of the men charged in the "Ottawa Sex Scandal," particularly with regard to the way in which the Ottawa Morality Squad handled the laying of charges and the releasing of the names of the accused. On May 13, W.H. Langton replied in a letter on behalf of the ministry, stating that "the vigilant efforts of the police deserve commendation rather than censure," and that the publication of the names of the accused was the media's "decision and responsibility." GO'S request for a probe into the matter was denied.
