May 10 Montréal; Toronto Lesbians and gay men took part in the "Women Unite: May 10th March," which was held to publicize International Women's Year and what they saw as the real needs of women — equal pay for equal work, abortion on demand, free daycare facilities, educational opportunities, and the repeal of discriminatory legislation. Marchers also called for equal custody rights for lesbian mothers and justice for John Damien and Dr. Henry Morgentaler.
