November 20 Toronto CUPE Local 1230, representing non-professional library workers at the main campus of the University of Toronto, went on strike to back contract demands that included a clause to prevent discrimination in employment based on sexual orientation. They were unsuccessful in securing this protection when the strike was settled on December 9,1975.
