Description

November 14 Toronto Ontario's newly appointed Minister of Labour Bette Stephenson (pc -Don Mills) declined an invitation to meet with representatives of CGRO. On September 10, during an all-candidates meeting for the provincial election, Stevenson had said that, if elected, she would look into the matter of discrimination against gay people. Stephenson was elected, and by becoming minister of Labour she became the Cabinet minister responsible for the administration of the Ontario Human Rights Code. (see also December 4,1975.)
