Description

November 11 Ottawa Denis LeBlanc and Marie Robertson of GO laid a wreath at the National War Memorial. The wreath was inscribed with a pink triangle to commemorate the thousands of homosexuals who had been interned in Nazi concentration camps, as well as the thousands of gay men and lesbians who had served in the Canadian Armed Forces during both world wars. This was the first time that a gay group was allowed to participate formally in the official Canadian Remembrance Day ceremonies.
