January Québec, Qué. The Service d'entraide homophile de Québec (SEHQ) became an independent counselling and referral service. Although created by CHAL, SEHQ received so many requests for service that it became independent, although it still operated from CHAL'S office at 264, rue des Franciscains. SEHQ was devoted to providing consultation and referrals to gay men and lesbians for moral, social, familial, and legal problems. Denise Goyette was the director of SEHQ.
