June 12 Windsor, Ont. Harold B. Desmarais, chairperson of WGU, appeared before a meeting of the Special Joint Committee on Immigration Policy, held at the Holiday Inn. Desmarais presented a brief on behalf of Windsor gays, calling for the implementation of the recommendations made in 1966 by a government commission in Section 61 of a White Paper on immigration. Desmarais was later interviewed by CKLW news.
