Description

March Montréal Two lesbians (Sandra and Lise) were verbally and physically abused by male employees of the Lime Light disco, 1254, rue Stanley, after they complained that women were being charged a higher admission price than men. Police arrived on the scene and charged the women with disturbing the peace; they spent the night and most of the next day in jail. In May 1974, they were found not guilty of the charge. The Lime Light's management soon reverted to an equal admission policy when it was threatened with a boycott and picketing by the gay community.
