February 14 Toronto Professor John Alan Lee appeared as a guest on the Valentine's Day edition of the Judy LaMarsh Show, broadcast on TVO, Channel 19. Lee discussed his sociological research on the subject of romantic love. He emphasized that his respondents included romances among gay men, and declared that he himself was gay. Lee was the first Canadian professor to so publicly declare his homosexuality.
