February 7 Winnipeg Maurice Flood, chairperson of GATE (Vancouver), addressed the annual Festival of Life and Learning at the University of Manitoba. Flood spoke on the problems faced by gay students on campus, the importance of coming out, and gay political activism. The talk was well received by the almost 1,000 (mostly heterosexual) students in attendance.
