Description
February Fredericton Keith Sly made an initial attempt to form Gay Friends, the first organization for lesbians and gays in New Brunswick, by placing ads in The Body Politic and by corresponding with other groups in Canada. Progress was very slow; by February of 1975, Gay Friends had only three active members. The group devoted itself to writing letters and distributing pamphlets such as the Operation Socrates Handbook and With Downcast Gays. Gay Friends collapsed in August 1975 when Sly moved to Montréal.
