Description

September 27 Guelph, Ont. President Paul Shepherd and other representatives of UGHA met with Mark Shopian, editor of The Daily Bastphuque, the Mills Hall dormitory newsletter that had printed anti-gay, racist, and sexist material in its September 6 edition. Also present at the meeting were representatives of other groups maligned in the paper. Shopian printed an apology in the Ontarion on October 1, but when the next issue of the Bastphuque-was published, it included similar offensive material. Comments on the incident, both pro and con, were printed in the Ontarion throughout November 1974.
