June (mid) Winnipeg During a question-and-answer session with students at Red River Community College, NDP leader David Lewis was asked whether it was NDP policy to end discrimination against homosexuals. Lewis replied, "Let me tell you this. I believe, and I say with complete confidence that my wife and my family also believe, that discrimination against anyone because of how they are made is totally unacceptable in a modern society." Lewis was on a campaign tour leading up to the July 8 federal election.
